What Is Reiki?

Reiki was reintroduced and developed in the 1920s by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, and the techniques and principles he taught are still one of the dominant reiki traditions today. The Usui tradition is based on Five Precepts:

Just for today:

  • Do not be angry
  • Do not worry
  • Be grateful
  • Work honestly
  • Be kind to all living things

These five simple principles when used daily can free blockages and release vital ki, balancing the mind, body, and soul. Reiki is a holistic approach to health care which promotes the body’s ability to heal itself by tapping into the source of all life.
